Saving at the dentist, start to finish.
Three simple steps, no paperwork, and no surprises. Here’s exactly what happens from the moment you join to the moment you pay less at the front desk.
It really is just three steps.
Pick the plan that fits how you use the dentist, then enroll online in a few minutes. There is no health questionnaire, no waiting period and no approval process.
Search for a participating practice near you and book your appointment. When you call and when you arrive, tell the office the exact name of your plan.
The discount is applied right at the front desk. You pay the reduced rate directly to the dentist — no claim forms, no reimbursements, no annual limits.
Give the office your plan name — not ours.
This one detail decides whether your discount is applied. Dental offices look you up by the name of the plan, which is not the same as the name of the website you joined through.
Use whichever network applies to your visit. Care Plus members can use either one — Careington Care 500 at general dentists, Aetna Dental Access at specialists.
Careington1 is the company you joined through — it is not a plan name. Front-desk staff search their system by plan, so “Careington1” won’t return a match and your discount may be missed.
Which plan is right for you?
Care 500 saves you 20–60% at general dentists and 20% at specialists. Care Plus adds the Aetna Dental Access network which saves 15% to 50% at specialists and general dentists — with far more dentists to choose from. Both start working immediately.

How to pick the right practice.
Your discount only applies at participating practices — so a little care up front saves money and hassle later.
Networks change. Before you book, check our provider search and ask the office directly to confirm they currently accept your plan.
Filter by distance first. Routine care means several visits a year, so a practice you can reach easily is worth more than a slightly bigger discount farther away.
A general dentist handles checkups, cleanings, fillings and crowns. For braces, implants or gum surgery, filter by the matching specialty.
One last thing worth doing: ask for the fee before you commit. Plan fees are published in advance, so ask the office to quote your procedure code at the plan rate — that way you know the exact price before you sit in the chair.
Everything else you might be wondering.
No. This is a dental savings plan, not insurance. You pay a low membership fee and receive pre-negotiated discounts directly from participating dentists. There are no premiums, deductibles, claim forms or annual maximums.
Dental savings plans are a simple, affordable way to save on dental care. Unlike dental insurance, members receive a discounted fee for treatment at the time of service.
Dental Savings Plans
- No limits on use
- No claims
- Everyone is accepted
- Can be used immediately — no waiting
- Discounts can be used throughout the year
- Includes discounts on specialties such as orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry
- One affordable membership fee gives you access to discounted dental rates
Dental Insurance
- May have deductibles and annual maximums
- May require waiting periods for certain procedures
- Coverage may be limited for some treatments
- Cosmetic dentistry is usually not covered
- Monthly premiums can be higher
- Benefits and coverage depend on the specific insurance policy
Can I have both?
Yes. If you already have dental insurance, a dental savings plan may still help you save on services your insurance does not include — there is no waiting and no limits on use.
Dental savings plan discounts generally cannot be combined with insurance benefits on the same procedure. Check with your dentist and insurance provider before treatment to determine which option gives you the best savings.
Immediately. There are no waiting periods — you can use your plan the same day you enroll, including for major work and pre-existing conditions.
Give them the name of your plan — either the “Careington Care 500 plan” or the “Aetna Dental Access plan.” Do not say “Careington1,” because that is the name of the company you bought from, not the plan the office looks up in their system.
Every plan fee is published in advance for your ZIP code. Ask the office to quote your procedure at the plan rate, or check the published fee list, so you know the exact price before treatment.
No. Use your plan as often as you like, on as many procedures as you need. There are no annual maximums and no limits on use.
Yes. Plans include your household, so everyone you’re responsible for can use the same membership.
The discount only applies at participating practices. You can search for a participating dentist near you, or ask your current dentist whether they would consider joining the network.
Ask them to look up the plan name exactly — “Careington Care 500” or “Aetna Dental Access” — rather than the company name. If they still can’t find it, call us at 800-290-1820 and we’ll confirm participation and walk the office through it.
Yes. Every plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Cancel within the first 30 days for a full refund, less a nominal processing fee.
Yes — plans include savings on orthodontics for children and adults, plus cosmetic and restorative work like implants and veneers. For specialist procedures, Care Plus gives you access to the Aetna Dental Access network.
